All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the Customer. The Customer assumes full responsibility for the artwork during return transit. Any damage, loss, or alteration occurring during return shipping shall be borne entirely by the Customer. TAXES AND CUSTOMS
-
If you purchase a work internationally, you will be responsible for paying any customs fees and will be marked as the importer of record. You may be required to provide personal information such as your SSN, EIN, IRN, TIN, or EORI (dependent on the destination country). The shipping carrier will contact you directly for the required information and to collect the fee.
Please review your country’s customs information or contact a local shipper for details—Artsy can’t predict customs fees as these are levied at the border.
For US import questions, you can reference the Customs & Border Protection website here
For UK import questions, you can reference the UK Government website
For EU import questions, you can reference the European Commission website
For other destination countries, please refer to your local country’s custom website for more details.
DELIVERY AND& Artwork Verification
We take pride in the quality and craftsmanship of each piece and ensure every artwork is carefully packaged and delivered. Your prompt verification helps us maintain the highest standard of care for all works.
-
When the courier delivers your package, you should always inspect the external packaging before signing for delivery.
If you notice any visible signs of damage, impact, crushing, opening, or tampering, you must accept the delivery with written reservation (e.g. “accepted with reservation due to damaged packaging”) directly with the courier at the time of delivery.
Accepting the package without reservation confirms that it was received in good condition.
In such cases, and in the absence of a written reservation made at the moment of delivery, the Gallery will unfortunately be unable to process insurance claims, refunds, or compensation requests related to transport damage.
For this reason, we strongly recommend accepting all shipments with reservation, especially when any doubt exists regarding the condition of the packaging.
-
Upon receipt, the Customer is required to inspect the packaging and artwork carefully within 48 hours of delivery, checking for:
integrity of the packaging
condition of the artwork
compliance with the description provided
Any visible damage, defects, or discrepancies due to shipping must be reported within 48 hours, via written communication to Miura Gallery at info@miuragallery.com, accompanied by detailed photographic evidence.
If no damage is reported within this timeframe, the artwork will be considered intact and accepted as delivered, and the Gallery may not be able to process insurance claims or shipping disputes. -
If no notification is received within 48 hours of delivery, the artwork shall be considered accepted in the condition it was delivered, limited to aspects objectively verifiable at the time of opening.
Reports submitted after this period may not allow the activation of insurance coverage or courier claims, for which the Gallery cannot be held liable.
